The grossest meaning of hatha yoga is force, doing something forcibly, beacause initialy hatha yoga is almost forcing ourselves to break unhealthy body habits. but it is a gentle force it is not the forcing like that of wrestler or weightlifter. so when one begins to uinderstand from where that gentle part of the forcing comes, the meaning of hatha yoga shifts and one is thinking not of the physical body alone but of subtler truths.
The word “ha” means the “sun”, and the word “tha” means the “moon”. as the understanding of one’s personal, physical relationship with universe begins to dawn, again the meaning shifts and the sun is not the sun that rise in the morning, and moon is not the moon that shines in the sky at night.
the sun is active ”musculine”, and moon is intutive “feminine” sides of the individual personality.in this way one finds that the practice of hatha yoga is working at the various levels.
Asana is the first part of hatha yoga. asana is a specific position which opens the prana channels and psychic centres. hatha yoga is a procces through which purification and control of the body take place by restructuring the prana flows. the hatha yogis also found that by developing control of the body through asana, the mind is controlled. therefore asana practice is foremost in hatha yoga. when you practice asana steadyness develops. prana moves freely and there is less chance of disease acurring. stiffness of the body is due to blockeges and an accumulation of toxins. just as stagnant water is the breeding ground of all sorts of creatures, when prana stagnates anywhere in the body, conditions are perfect bacteria to flourish; prana should, move like swift flowing water, when prana flows freely the toxins are removed, and body also become supple. join an online hatha yoga course/classes at Rishikesh Yoga Mitram, where you will learn how to practice Yoga postures systamatically. in this taining we cover all types hatha yoga postures and flow from a very beginer level to advance levlels of postures.

The Vedic sages had discovered the truth of predictive astrology through their meditation or penance and intutional perception. All the ancient scholars;- Maharshi Vyas, Maharshi Valmiki, Maharshi Vashishtha, Maharshi Vishwamitra, Kalidas and a host of other poets and seers also have cherished and developed this science of astrology which is one of the corner stones of the Indian culture.
Vedic Astrology is the original science or system of knowledge devised by ancient Indian scholars. It was not only the original and foremost of the outer sciences, and also the most important of the inner or spritual sciences. Astrology is as old as is Yogic science. In ancient India astrologers were held in high edteem, as they combined both a scientific bent of mind a spritual outlook on life as well as a pur life of high moral standard.Vedic astrology, like the science of yoga, is part of one of the oldest and most sacred texts known; the Vedas. The Vedas arose from the deep meditation and visions of the rishis, the enlightened sages. Vedic knowledge is knowledge of the self.

Prana is the highest and finest of the energy, also known as vital energy or life force energy, present in every organism of universe, Prana is the basic and most imprtant form of life.
There are five types of the prana and five type of prana and five type of up prana.
FIVE PRANAS;-
PRANA;- governs the function of respiration.
APANA;- governs the function of elimination.
SAMANA;- governs the function of digestion.
UDANA;- governs the function of comunication.
VYANA;- governs the function of respiration.
FIVE UP PRANAS;-
NAGA PRANA;- governs the function of hiccup and belcing.
KOORMA PRANA;- governs the function of blinking and sleep.
KRIKARA PRANA;- governs the function of yanning.
DEVDUTT PRANA;- governs the function of sneezing.
DHANANJAYA PRANA;- governs the function of decomposition.
Breath or vayu is known as a viechle of prana. Therefore Respiration is essential for sustaining all forms of life. it is possible to live without food or water for few days, but when respiration ceases so does life. Most of assume that because breathing is a usually automatic, it is beyond our active control. This is not true. In Pranayama by arduous training of the lungs and nervous system, breathing can be made more efficientby changingits rate, depth and quality.
The purpose of pranayama is to make the respiratory system function at its best. This automaticaly improves the circulatory system. The lung capacity of great athletes, mountain climbers and yogis is far greater than that of ordinary men. Better bretahing means a better and healthier life.
The ventilation rate of the lungs is normally set to provide oxygen and remove carbon dioxide in accordance with metabolic needs. Bringing about deep and slow rhythmic respiratory patterns, and the changing of the faulty breathing, elimintation of the waste gases is improved, the heart and ciriulatory functions are regulated and arrhythmic heart beat is rectified. All these induce a sense of relaxation throughout the body-mind complex.
If the carbon dioxide level in the blood decreases through imoproved elimination of carbon dioxide, the normal respiratory rate become slower. This condition has an arresting effect on the mental and emotional condition of the mind, it quietens and calms the dissipated mind, creating the essential mental state conducive to control of thought pattern.

The human body is a complex organization of different structural levels, starting with atoms and compounds. and cells, tissues, organs and complex systems together create the complete human being. At the chemical level, the human is the organizational and functional form of various elements organize themselves in the form of compounds and carry out biological activities. The main elements among these are carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, phasphoras and sulpher. When two or more atoms come together, they form a molecule. For example, when two atoms of oxygen come together, they form a molecule of oxygen. If there is more than one atom in a molecule, then it is called a compound. like water (h2o)and carbondioxide (co2), carbohydrates, proteins and lipids, fat are also compounds which are importantfor the human body.
Cells are the smallest form the body. Our body is made up of millions of cells. A group of cells with similar properties, of the same size and performing th3e same function, is called tissue. An organ is a collection of two or more types of tissues that work together to perform a specific function.
Various parts of the body work together to perform a specific function, which is collectively called a system. like, Skeletal system, Muscular system, Nervous system.
Physiology: Physiology is the scientific study of the functions and processes that occur within living organisms. In the context of humans, human physiology specifically focuses on understanding the workings of the human body and its various systems. This includes the study of how organs, tissues, cells, and biochemical processes operate and interact to maintain the body’s internal balance, also known as homeostasis.
Human physiology covers a wide range of topics, such as the functioning of the nervous system, respiratory system, cardiovascular system, musculoskeletal system, endocrine system, and more. Yoga therapy is a therapeutic practice that applies the principles and practices of yoga to address physical, emotional, and mental health issues. It is a holistic approach to healing that integrates physical postures, breath work, meditation, and lifestyle changes to promote health and well-being.
Disease indicates that we have been making an error in our Life style or thinking and have bocome unbalanced. It shows us that we must make some changes if we are to live a healthier, fuller and joyous existence. Yoga teaches us that we must learn to use and value our sufferings as springboards in spritual evolution. somehow we have lost our awareness of who we are and how we can lead useful and aware lives. Loss of awarreness allows disease to creep in. When we are sick, we are forced by nature to wake up to our transgressions of natural laws. Regaining our awareness through yogic practices is the key to health. The yogic procces brings about rebalance, insight, understanding and appreciation of the universal laws which operates in the world we live in.
Yoga therapy is personalized to the individual’s needs, so it can be used to treat a wide range of conditions, such as stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia, chronic pain, and autoimmune diseases. It involves a thorough assessment of the individual’s health history, current health status, lifestyle, and goals. Based on this asassessment, a yoga therapist creates a personalized practice that is safe, effective, and sustainable.
yoga therapy works by bringing harmony to the body, mind, and spirit. It recognizes that imbalances in one area can affect the others, so the goal is to restore balance and promote self-healing. The eight stages of yoga :
Maharshi Patanjali gives a wide range of techniques that slowly harmonise the mind and gradually induce more subtle perceptions. the main path of patanjali is contained within eight fundamental stages.
Yama (social code).
Niyama (personal code).
Asana (yoga posture).
Pranayama (control of prana).
pratyahara (sense withdrawl).
Dharana (concentration).
Dhyana (meditation).
Samadhi (superconsciousness).
The eight stages progressively steady the five koshas (seaths) of man: annamaya kosha (physical), Pranamaya kosha (pranic or bioplasmic), Manomaya kosha (mental), Vijnanamaya (intutive), and Anandamaya (blissful). Eventually the aim is to transcend the limitation of these seaths. The movement is from the gross to the more subtle.
Because yoga is not just twisting or turning of your body instead it is the only ancient science for human well-being not just on physical level but at every level of physical, psychic, emational and energy. And the modern Ashtanga/vinyasa Yoga series is a form of yoga that cobines a series of postures with syncronized breathing and is designed to create a strong a flexible body and calm and a focused mind. ashtanga/vinyasa yoga is known as one of the most physically challanging and strengthning form of yoga.

When you are not doing anything at all – bodily, mentally, on on no level – when all activity has ceased and you simpluy are, just being, thats what meditation is. You cannot practice it; you have only to understand it. Meditation is not aga against action, it is that you have to escape from life. it simply teaches you a new way of life, your life goes on really more int
ensely with more joy, with clarity, more vision, with more creativity.
Meditation is a different, subtle, and precise approach. it is the simple technique of learning how to pay attention to and understand the variouis levels of yourself- the body, the breath and the mind. As time progresses, you may find that you enjoy the positive result of meditation- increased joy, clarity and awareness- as much as you enjoythe reliefyou will experience from relieasingthe physical, nervous and mental symptomsof stress.
Meditation also has an important influence on health. in the modern world, most diseases can be classified to some degre as psychosomatic, having their origin in or being influenced by thoughts and emotions. modern science have begun to r
ecognize that these kinds of disease cannot really be curedmerely by the conventional methods of orthodox medicine or psychotherapy, because if disease originates in your mind and your emotional reactions, how can an extrenal therapy alone restore your health? In contrast, the method of meditationmakes people self – reliant and helps them attain the inner strength neccessaryto deal more effectively with all of life’s problem.
The culmination of meditation is self realization. this occurs when even the higher mindis transcanded. the consciousness leaves the exploration of the mind and identifies with central core of one’s existence, the self. At this point it becomes pure consciousness. when a person achieves self-realization it means that he has contacted his central being and now identifies his existence.
when acts from his centre of his being, the body and the mind operate almost as separate entities. the mind the body cease to be the real him, they are merely manifestations of the self, his true identity. so it can be seen that the aim of the meditation is to explore the different regions of the mind and eventually to transcend the mind completely.
Techniques are helpful.
with scientific techniques such as MINDFULNESS MEDITATION, MANTRA JAPA, CHAKRA MEDITATION, YOGA NIDRA, CHAKRA MEDITATION, INNER SILENCE, ANA-PANA SATI, you can save much time opportunity and energy. if a right technique is used, growth explodes. And these techiques hve been used in thousand of years of experiments by Yogis. they were not devised by one man; they wre devise by many, many seekers and only the essence is handed down.
